Background
Dan Chlebos is a respected law enforcement professional, educator, and media contributor with a broad career spanning police leadership, legal consulting, and criminal justice education. A former Lieutenant and Chief with a police agency in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, Dan brings practical field experience to the classroom and continues to train law enforcement officers and consult for attorneys across the country. He is also an expert witness in Federal Court, lending his insights to complex litigation involving police practices and procedures.

As a faculty member, Dan teaches a range of law enforcement and pre-law courses, with special interests in Intro to Law Enforcement and Criminology. He is passionate about bridging the gap between academic knowledge and frontline experience, helping prepare the next generation of public safety leaders.

Beyond the classroom, Dan is also a recognized media voice, hosting two criminal justice–focused radio shows—one on an ABC affiliate and another on iHeart Radio—where he explores current legal issues, police reform, and justice system trends.

Dan holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in law from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville (2005), a Bachelor’s in Human Resource Administration from Concordia University (1996), and completed executive leadership training at Cornell University (2015). His earlier studies include Public Administration at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (1982) and business coursework at Monroe Community College (1991).
