Doug Bucher brings more than 35 years of expertise in investigations, security, and threat management to his new role at Proctor Consulting & Investigations Group. A respected leader in the field, Doug most recently spent 12 years on the management team at Recon Management Group, where he directed complex investigations and consulting projects for a wide range of corporate and private clients.

Doug’s career began in retail security, culminating in his role as Director of Investigations at Macy’s Department Stores. There, he oversaw sensitive internal investigations involving employees at all levels—from front-line staff to senior executives—and played a pivotal role in handling high-profile criminal cases. His work included critical incident response, surveillance operations, and the development of internal threat mitigation strategies. Known for his ability to train and lead, Doug designed and delivered security programs focused on interviewing and interrogation techniques, crisis response, and behavioral threat assessment.

In addition to his private-sector accomplishments, Doug has served as a reserve police officer with the Waterford Township Police Department, deepening his hands-on experience in law enforcement. He studied criminal justice at Oakland University, further grounding his work in a strong academic foundation.
